                    Royal Divas – DOOMED!

Mezzo Soprano Hege Hoisaeter and John Lidal at the piano, will present a programme of condensed operatic psychodramas showing strong women dealing with crisis through key arias from famous operas. 

They’re thrilling miniature dramas touching on remorse, fury, delight, grief – and humour.

Bergen-born Hege Høisæter was a soloist with the Norwegian Opera where her many major roles included Carmen, Ottavia in Poppea (Monteverdi) and Kabanicha in Katya Kabanova (Janacek). She has led casts in many world premiers by Norwegian composers including Rolf Wallin and Gisle Kverndokk. Hege regularly performs on radio and television in Norway, and she is returning to the Norwegian Opera for a much anticipated premier this year. Her CD of Norwegian contemporary on Lawo Classics, is scheduled for release this autumn.

John Lidal is a much sought after accompanist, chamber musician and vocal coach in all the worlds major opera houses.   He is in much demand for master classes worldwide recently working at the Staatsoper unter den Linden Opernstudio, Berlin, and at the Manhattan School of Music. John directs LidalNorth International Opera Workshops, a program that spotlights and promotes the operatic careers of young singers .
